About Me

Celeste Shambrook is an Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s WorkCover department, based in Greensborough.

Celeste has a thorough understanding of workplace injuries and how they affect not only the worker but their family and broader social network. She first joined Maurice Blackburn as a paralegal in our Response Centre while she was studying law, and went on to undertake a seasonal clerkship and legal placement in our Comcare department.

Before joining Maurice Blackburn, Celeste gained legal experience in Victoria Legal Aid’s Civil Justice Unit in the eastern suburbs, and at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission as a complaints officer.

Celeste is passionate about informing people of their rights at work; ensuring injured workers get full access to their entitlements under the Workcover scheme and are appropriately compensated.

“It motivates me to know that my work is meaningful and facilitates access to justice for those who are vulnerable due to no fault of their own. It is inspiring working alongside lawyers who are social justice pioneers,” Celeste says.

Celeste is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and Maurice Blackburn’s cultural diversity committee and Women’s Network. She is also a Victorian Multicultural Commissions Regional Advisory Council member.
