Since 1985, our grants have been helping Victorian women, girls and gender diverse people to thrive.
1985
Victorian Women’s Trust established
Established in 1985, the Victorian Women’s Trust promotes gender equality through annual grants, research, education, and policy advocacy.
1988
Ewa Czajor Memorial Award
VWT administered the Ewa Czajor Memorial Award for ten years, launched by Senator Reynolds to recognise emerging female creatives.
1988
Guaranteed Loan Fund
VWT brokered State Bank loans for Victorian women to start businesses without male guarantors, sharing half the financial risk. Not a single woman defaulted.
1989
Victorian Women’s Trust Celebratory Dinner
800 women attended VWT’s first major fundraiser at the Melbourne Town Hall, featuring over 60 volunteering top women chefs.

Dr Marilyn Waring Victorian Tour
Principal founder of feminist economics, Marilyn Waring, spoke to audiences in Benalla, Ballarat, Hamilton, Bendigo, Warragul, and Melbourne.
