About Me

Karen Bentley is the CEO of WESNET, Australia’s national peak body for specialist women’s domestic and family violence services. Karen has worked across the Violence Against Women sector for more than twenty years, in frontline services, peak body, and government roles, and is a highly experienced senior manager in both non-government and government roles.

A tech enthusiast and strong anti-violence advocate, Karen is one of Australia’s leading experts on the intersection of technology and Violence Against Women, regularly providing advice to government departments and technology companies. One of her personal purposes is to help women be tech-savvy and empower them to use technology to their advantage.

Karen has also trained thousands of frontline workers and other professionals about technology safety and is a co-founder of the Safety Net Australia project -the first of its kind here in Australia.
