UX Design Lead

About Me

I am a usability researcher, currently working in Melbourne. I have a background in both psychology and computer science.
My UX experience spans stakeholder management, experience design, strategy and research, and personnel management and training.

For the last few years I have trained UX designers and researchers as part of my job, as well as designing workshops on research methods and industry tool use.
My current role requires large amounts of stakeholder interaction ranging from research strategy design, to requirements workshops and reporting. Most recently I have planned consumer trials and stakeholder interviews, while coordinating the design team to carry these out. I lead the service design strategy and implementation in my current role. In my previous UX role I designed research that would affect the delivery of an international e- commerce website, and commissioned the agencies largest UX survey to measure baseline website performance.

I have previously worked for DECIDE, UCL’s London-based business accelerator. Here I worked with many clients, redesigning interfaces, and validating products ranging from mobile games, to hospital ward-based decision support programs.

I am passionate about getting women into STEM subjects. I belonged to the UCL Computer Science Athena SWAN group. In 2015 I sat on the roundtable for the UK Games Industry Summit, held at the Microsoft Headquarters, one of only 6 women attending.

In Melbourne, I have worked for several digital agencies including Squareweave and DT (now AKQA). Most recently I worked for Australia Post as a researcher in their innovation department.

I have worked as an instructor at General Assembly Melbourne, and occasionally run workshops.

I am available for work on devices, websites and games in the public and private sector.
