About Me

Fiona is Chief Operating Officer at BBC Studios in Australia and New Zealand. In this role, her primary focus is on growing new business lines, business development and setting / executing our regional strategy. She is also responsible for the operations, IT, legal & business affairs and corporate strategy functions. She is a member of BBC’s Global Leadership Group.

Last year Fiona was awarded a scholarship from Chief Executive Women to Insead and since 2016, she has serviced as a non-executive director of UN Women National Committee Australia.

In her spare time, Fiona enjoy steaching latin ballroom dance and have a real passion for leading and finding growth in the media, arts, entertainment and sports sector.

Fiona regularly presents at Sydney Uni’s MBA programme on ‘Critical Thinking and Leadership’ and speak at various conferences on the subject. Recently Fiona contributed to a book “The World We See”, leadership reflections for the next generation of from 30 Australian leaders across different sectors.

Previously, Fiona worked as a corporate mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills and Gilbert + Tobin in Sydney advising ASX listed, private and government organisations in all sectors. She has also worked at Hogan Lovells in Berlin where she focused on media and other regulated industries.

A bit of a start up fan, Fiona started up and (less than 5 years later) sold a start up business.
