About Me

Jess has fifteen years’ experience as a media adviser, speechwriter and communications strategist. She specialises in using social research and polling to deliver targeted communications plans that win campaigns. At Essential Media Communications Jess has managed media and communications for the Australian Education Union, the Australian Council of Trade Unions and has worked with the United Firefighters Union, Civil Air, and many other member based organisations. She has also worked with the Solar Council, Climate Council, GetUp and the Australian Conservation Foundation. Jess regularly presents at campaign conferences and events.

Qualifications

Jess holds a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Urban Environmental Management from RMIT and a Diploma of Government. She’s a member of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and The Communications Network (US). Jess sits on Fair Agenda’s Advisory Board for Abortion Decriminalisation in Queensland. Jess was previously a board member of TreeProject and the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre.
