Sexual assault and rape culture continues to be one of the most confronting and difficult topics of feminist activism. One of the lesser talked about topics within this is sexual violence towards sex workers. Vale Mary Owen OAM 1921-2017

Feminist, activist and trail blazer Mary Owen passed away on 23 March, aged 96. A lifelong advocate for the empowerment of women, Mary made a substantial impact on the road to achieving gender equality. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Thursday 27 April.
