Penelope is passionate about stories. She specialises in visual theatre as a medium to interpret and create stories.

Penelope is the Artistic Director of Barking Spider Visual Theatre. She is a director and visual creator/story teller with a background puppetry and performance. Penelope is also award-winning creative writer. In addition to her role as Artistic Director of Barking Spider Visual Theatre, she is also Creative Projects Director at the Women’s Circus.

Penelope has worked professionally in the arts for over 25 years. In the last 11 years with Barking Spider Visual Theatre she has generated, collaborated and directed in excess of 70 works – for theatre, with museums and galleries, site-specific works, community arts projects, schools works and roving pieces. As a part of her practice, wherever possible she works with young people as equal creative collaborators and innovators.
