About Me

Nicky is a lawyer. She runs leading law firm Allens’ extensive community engagement program, where she is responsible for facilitating the firm’s contributions to protecting human rights, alleviating disadvantage, reconciliation, and protecting the natural environment.

Nicky is a passionate proponent of gender equity, social justice and human rights. She began her career as a commercial lawyer but after the birth of her first child she recognised that in combining family life and career life it was critical for her to work in a field in which she considers she can make a significant contribution to society. She worked in social policy and then legal policy roles, and eventually moved into her now long term role as a pro bono professional.

Nicky is a long term director of the Victorian Women’s Trust, where she is now deputy chair and chair of the granting committee. She is also a director of Justice Connect and chairs its nominations committee.

Nicky was awarded a scholarship through the Victorian Government’s Board Leadership Program for 2018 and she looks forward to using this to complete the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ course.
