About Me

Carol is an independent consultant, non-executive director and university Professor of Accounting. Carol has held senior university management positions and as Pro Vice Chancellor (Sustainability), led the development of award winning sustainability management and governance processes and reports. She is currently a member of the Global Reporting Initiative’s Stakeholder Council of the International Integrated Reporting Council’s Capitals Technical Collaboration Group. Carol spent many years in financial auditing with KPMG and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has and MSc Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a PhD in International Corporate Reporting from the University of Glasgow. Carol is an internationally renowned expert in corporate reporting, sustainability change management and sustainability performance management. She is founding editor of the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal.
