Later this month, we will be welcoming a new face to the VWT crew! Experienced systems thinker, Rachael Peri (she/her) is joining as VWT’s Operations Coordinator. 

Rachael brings calm to chaos. She’s a builder of strong foundations, creating systems and workflows that allow organisations like ours to operate with care and at a high standard, so we can stay focused on the big picture: gender equality.

Ahead of her official start date, we had a little get-to-know-ya chat. Take a look:

Tell us a little bit about yourself, Rachael.

“Proud wāhine from Aotearoa, with tribal affiliations to Ngāti Awa and Tūhoe, calling this wonderful city home for almost five years! I’ve spent my entire career at the intersection of impact and digital, helping purpose-driven organisations thrive. Natural wine appreciator, dinner party enthusiast, and aspiring dog mum.”

When you think about systems, what comes to mind?

“The unsexy scaffolding where the magic secretly happens. I’m obsessed with bringing order to chaos so teams can focus on what actually matters.”

What does feminism mean to you?

“Feminism means we all feel safe and thrive.”

Who are your feminist heroes?

“My mum! Jacinda Ardern, Georgina Beyer, Papatūānuku, bell hooks…”
