The Union of Australian Women (Victoria) Sub-Fund
Established in 2021, the Union of Australian Women (Vic) Sub-Fund continues a proud seventy year history of highlighting the vital contributions women make to Victoria’s economic, cultural, and political life. When the UAW Victoria — the last remaining branch — concluded its operations, it dedicated its remaining funds to create this Sub-Fund, bolstered by contributions from the community.
This Sub-Fund reflects the UAW’s long-standing history of engaging with, and being led by First Australian people, drawing on a legacy that includes the involvement of Aboriginal women members and foundational partnerships with the Aboriginal Advancement League and the Council for Aboriginal Rights. This fund supports the leadership, training, and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, girls, and gender-diverse young people.
