Christine Friday and Kathleen Pooley Sub-Fund
Established in 2016, the Christine Friday & Kathleen Pooley Sub-Fund represents a milestone in the Victorian Women’s Benevolent Trust’s commitment to philanthropic support for Aboriginal women and girls. Originally created as the Chris Friday Sub-Fund, it was renamed in 2019 at Chris’s request to honour her late biological mother, Kathleen Pooley (1906–1957).
Chris Friday, a woman deeply committed to her community through her volunteering and philanthropy, established this fund to provide meaningful, targeted support. Today, it continues that legacy by empowering Aboriginal women and girls across Victoria, funding community-led projects that address vital needs including education, health, and housing.
