Deborah Brennan is a Professor in the Social Policy Research Centre, UNSW.
Deborah was the inaugural convenor of the National Association for Community Based Children’s Services and has worked for gender equality – especially a better deal for women and children – for decades. Her research focuses on early childhood education and care, family policy and gender and politics. She serves on the editorial advisory board of the Social Politics: International Studies in Gender, State and Society journal, and is a member of the Feminist and Institutionalism International Network. She has had visiting positions at the London School of Economics, Oxford University, Trinity College Dublin and the University of Melbourne.
Debora is lead Chief Investigator of an Australian Research Council Discovery grant on Markets, Migration and Care, aiming to understand the interaction between care marketisation, employment regulation and migration, and how this impacts workers in aged and childcare in Australia, NZ and Canada.
