Melbourne Writers Festival Book Prize Giveaway: Terms and Conditions
1. Promoter
The promoter is the Victorian Women’s Trust (ABN: 20 006 403 256), located at 137a Queens Parade, Clifton Hill, VIC 3068.
2. Eligibility
The competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older. Employees of the Victorian Women’s Trust and their immediate family members are ineligible to enter.
3. Promotional Period
The competition commences at Sunday 10 May, and closes at 11:59 PM AEST on Monday, 18 May 2026. Entries received after this time will not be eligible for the draw.
4. How to Enter
To enter, eligible entrants must:
Scan the promotional QR code displayed at the Looking at Women, Looking at War: Cities of Literature Book Club event, as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival.
Follow the link to the official entry form.
Complete all mandatory fields on the web form and submit the entry during the promotional period.
Limit of one (1) entry per person.
5. Prize Details
The prize consists of Looking at Women, Looking at War by Victoria Amelina; Public. Open. Space. by Kate Larsen (signed by the author); Endling by Maria Reva (signed by the author); Tissue by Madison Griffiths (signed by the author); with a total approximate retail value of $150 (including GST). The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
6. Drawing the Winner
This is a game of chance. The winner will be drawn at random by the Victorian Women’s Trust team at our offices on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
7. Winner Notification
The winner will be notified via email within 48 hours of the draw. The winner will be required to provide their full postage address in reply to the notification email to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond to the notification email within [e.g., 7 days], the prize will be forfeited, and a redraw will take place at the same location.
8. Privacy
The Victorian Women’s Trust collects and administers personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic). By entering this competition, you agree that your personal information is being collected for the primary purpose of administering this giveaway and awarding the prize. The Victorian Women’s Trust will handle your data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your express permission. If you have consented to receiving further communications, your data will also be used in line with our marketing practices, and you may opt-out at any time.
9. General
If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned due to any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the promotion.
