Chris Friday Sub-Fund

The Trustees of the Victorian Women’s Benevolent Trust (VWBT) were particularly proud to establish the Chris Friday Sub-Fund in December 2016 because it leads the way in philanthropic support for Aboriginal women and girls.

The Sub-Fund is thanks to the vision and generosity of Chris Friday, a woman committed to supporting her community through her volunteering efforts and philanthropy.

The Sub-Fund will seek applications from:

  • Aboriginal community organisations for projects addressing the education, health needs and housing of Aboriginal women and girls in Victoria.

We welcome donations to the Sub-Fund from anybody who wishes to help improve the lives of Aboriginal women and girls living in our state. All contributions help build the financial pool for making grants and are fully tax-deductible.

“I have always, and will always, be a strong advocate and believer that investing in our (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) girls and women is essential to build strong economies, establish stable and just societies, achieve human rights and improve the quality of life not only for women but for men, families and communities.”
