Australian feminist luminary Eve Mahlab AO is turning 80. To celebrate, we’re throwing a party like no other—and you’re invited.
Featuring Virginia Trioli as your esteemed MC Let’s Dance! is a celebration of the women’s movement, the people who made it happen and the gender equality changemakers of today.
And did we mention there’ll be dancing? Oh yes!
Learn soul grooves with a modern twist from dance leader Anna Go-Go or sit back, have a chat and listen to cool jazz from some of Melbourne’s finest musicians, led by Simon Starr.
To make your evening even more unforgettable, our menu will be designed by a culinary delight, soon to be announced.
Eve arrived in Australia as a refugee after WW2. Educated in Melbourne and abroad, she cut her teeth as a lawyer in the 1960s, at a time when women were pushing boundaries, marching through the streets and letting go of antiquated gender roles. As Eve navigated her own feminist journey she brought others along with her, later emerging as a leading voice for women in business, philanthropy and politics. Join us as we celebrate her significant milestone birthday and pay homage to her truly remarkable body of work.
