VICSEG New Futures is a not for profit community organisation that offers targeted programs that support and train newly arrived and recently settled migrant communities, refugees and asylum seekers. VICSEG New Futures is committed to providing opportunities for diverse communities through each of their programs, and prides themselves on collaboration and strong partnerships.

Project: Karenni Refugee Family Mentoring Program

Karenni Refugee Family Mentoring Program will assist vulnerable Karenni women and children living in Wyndham to access local services and better understand early education sector. This will be achieved through support of a mentor who shares their culture and language.
The project will build the capacity of Karenni women and their family to navigate of Australia’s service system through visits, info sessions & supported referrals. At the same time, the project will support local services to be more culturally responsive to needs of Karenni people.
This Sub-Fund supports immigrants and refugees and other disadvantaged girls and young women and provides them with positive mentoring opportunities or ways to improve their educational outcomes.
