The National Homeless Collective creates solutions to complex issues arising from homelessness, domestic violence, and social disadvantage. They have experience in supporting women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including women exiting prison. The offer flexible training and employment programs that support women experiencing extreme barriers to participation in such programs and have successfully supported women into ongoing employment. They are expanding their programs to include women recently released from prison.
The Sub Fund will support a number of issues that have been close to Jan and Sue’s hearts:

This pilot project will support women recently released from prison in Melbourne through the provision of training and employment. Over a 12-month period, 10-12 women will be employed 15 hours per week for 16 weeks and receive training and support to assist them to transition back into community life and into long term employment.
This Sub-Fund supports women exiting prison; educational and leadership opportunities for Aboriginal women; and pathways for women out of homelessness.
