Women's unpaid work makes an enormous contribution
to Australian society, and the Trust is no exception. Many volunteers
have been involved in the work of the Trust, serving on committees
and working groups, planning and implementing special events and
programs, working in the office and providing much needed support
to Trust staff.
Many women come to the Trust with a desire to give something back to the community after a long and successful career; others are at a crossroad in their lives, seeking a new career direction or re-entering the workforce after a period of child-rearing or study. Volunteer involvement also offers the opportunity to meet interesting, committed women from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds, and to work together in a supportive and stimulating environment.
The Trust values its volunteers, and endeavors to match each individual's skills and objectives with a volunteer commitment that is flexible and responsive. We are proud that many of our volunteers have moved on to fulfilling paid roles, which may not have come their way were it not for the experience, networks and glowing references which they gained from their time at the Trust.
To be a volunteer at the VWT please forward you resume with a letter
indicating your interests regarding any project work or duties,
by email to vwt@vwt.org.au
or hardcopy. You will be contacted for an interview by a staffmember
of the Trust.
