50th Anniversary of the Pill in Australia
In November 2011, the Victorian Women's Trust and the University of Melbourne teamed up to create a forum dedicated to the last 50 years of the contraceptive Pill in Australia, and how it has changed the lives of Australian women. We were deftly aided by the dry wit of Nelly Thomas (comedian), sociologist Dr. Louise Keough (University of Melbourne Senior Lecturer), Leslie Cannold (The Age columnist), and our very own Mary Crooks (VWT Executive Director). Together they examined, pulled apart and poked fun at the history of the Pill, and what it means for women today. For those who missed out, it is now available for viewing here.
Our Executive Director Mary Crooks is regularly asked to speak at a wide range of conferences, forums, meetings and community events.
