In March 2010 the Trust, working with the greatly experienced Vicki Fitzgerald, received a Leadership Grant from the Office of Women's Policy to undertake Vida's Voices.

During July and August participating students attended training sessions run by the Leaders group from Preston Girls Secondary College.

This group has been working hard with project officer Vicki Fitzgerald - attending after school sessions and having lots of fun in the process, broadening their skill base as public speakers and leaders.

During September students are competing in five locations across Victoria - Ballarat, Colac, Melbourne, Morwell and Seymour.

Semi-finals will be held on October 9th at the Women's Trust Office.

Vida's Voices will culminate in a Grand Final event with a small number of finalists at BMW Edge, Federation Square Melbourne on Sunday 31st October 2010. The event will also feature a prominent female guest speaker and emerging singer songwriters Rosie and George.
