Over its twenty-three-year history, the Women's Trust has given out over two million dollars, across more than 300 projects, all through our own fundraising efforts.

The Trust has one granting round per year, commencing in October.

 GRANTS PROGRAM 2008/2009

The Victorian Women’s Benevolent Trust is seeking to fund ground-breaking projects that advance conditions for women living in Victoria and lead to long-term, socially progressive change.

In this round, one of our interests is in funding applications that address issues and concerns of young women, including:

  • violence and harassment within new media technologies
  • workplace barriers
  • lack of representation
  • young women’s experience of poverty, and
  • emerging issues around binge drinking and other drug abuse.

We are mindful that young women may not, as organisations or individuals, satisfy tax requirements for receiving grants. Organisations with requisite tax endorsements will need to demonstrate a capacity to engage and involve young women in developing and driving such projects.

As usual we will also accept applications that address our broader concerns around discrimination and disadvantage faced by women, to improve conditions for women living in Victoria.
