Donors
The Trust's annual commitment to philanthropic granting is only made possible through the generosity and continued patronage of individual donors. Donations to the Victorian Women's Benevolent Trust are tax-deductible and go directly to grants that address poverty and disadvantage amongst women. Over its nineteen-year history, the Trust has given out over two million dollars, across more than 300 projects, all made possible by the generous financial support from donors and members - these contributions are critical to fund projects each year. Acknowledging this support is the least the Trust can do to thank them for the enormity of their generosity and ongoing support.
The Trust works closely with individual donors to match their personal commitment to the right project. The donor's involvement doesn't end there. As the funded project progresses, the Trust acts as a broker between the donor and the grantee, providing regular updates and involvement, giving the donor opportunities to see their money at work. In this way, the Trust promotes active philanthropy and helps women see the tangible results and outcomes of their investments in the community.
Acknowledgement of this generosity is made by formal letter to the donors and by including their name, with their approval, on the acknowledgement list in the Annual Report.
