The Power of Giving

"When women thrive, all of society benefits, and succeeding generations are given a better start in life."
Kofi Annan Former UN Secretary-General

The Victorian Women's Benevolent Trust has conducted an annual grants program since 1985. In 27 years we have raised over 3.5 million for more than 400 grants that invest in positive social change.

Investing in women and girls makes great sense

The Joyce Thorpe Nicholson Fund was named in honour of Joyce because of the enormous effort she put into the Trust's early fundraising. The interest earned on this Fund is distributed annually as General Grants. Joyce passed away early in 2011. We honour her lifelong commitment to women and girls.

Every year, thanks to those who donate to our work through this Fund, we are able to support creative and inspiring projects that improve conditions for women and girls across Victoria.

You can be part of this positive and powerful capacity to give and make a difference! You can donate to the Victorian Women's Benevolent Trust annual grants round online, over the phone, in person or by mail.

Every donation helps create a better world for women & girls.

We also have a suite of Sub-Funds, which are aimed at specific issues for women.
