The Victorian Women’s Trust is not new to the idea of stepping in where ‘angels fear to tread’, and has been in the vanguard of public advocacy in Melbourne since its inception in 1985. Ass. Prof. Ruth Beilin University of Melbourne, October 2009
We advocate on behalf of women wherever we can, contributing to policy debates, responding to media requests, making submissions to inquiries and running campaigns. For example:

 Moira Rayner Fund

The Moira Rayner Fund supports and protects disadvantaged women to take up their right to complain, and assert their claim to equal treatment.

The Fund has enabled several important cases to be prosecuted, including High Court appeals around self-defence, freedom of information, and the right to pursue civil damages for rape cases.
We welcome donations to help grow the fund. However donations are not tax-deductible.

If you are interested in the possible use of this Fund, please contact the Executive Director of the Trust, Mary Crooks.

Violence against women represents one of the darkest spots on humanity's soul, one of the world's most pressing concerns. Australia is far from immune. One million Australian women have experienced violence in their relationships. If there are children involved, they are almost always terribly affected.
