The Victorian Women's Trust was established in 1985, with a gift from the state government to the women of Victoria.
Since then, the Women's Trust has become a great
asset to the women of Victoria.
It is a philanthropist, having given out over $2 million to over 300 projects designed and run by women across the state.
It is an advocate, championing the rights and entitlements of women.
It is completely independent from government.
The Women's Trust exists to make a difference in women's lives.
The Trust is fired by the vision of a just and humane society in
which women enjoy full participation as citizens, free of poverty,
discrimination and disadvantage.
Our
Vision...

The Trust works to improve the status of, and conditions for, women in Victoria in whatever practical ways it can. It uses a funding program to invest in women and effect social change; forms strategic alliances; undertakes significant action projects; advocates on relevant issues; fosters networks for the exchange of skill, ideas and information; showcases women's talents; and encourages women from diverse backgrounds to participate in social and cultural events, discussion and debate.
At present, the Trust is focusing its energies on supporting women in the quest for due recognition of the value of their paid and unpaid work, in the achievement of equal access to decision making processes which shape our society, and in dealing with violence and harassment directed at women.
The Women's Trust survives and flourishes because of its many generous supporters.
